Post-doctoral position within PREHAB
The BONUS+ Project PREHAB (Spatial PREdiction of benthic HABitats in the Baltic Sea: incorporating anthropogenic pressures and economic evaluation) has an open post-doctoral position at the Department of Marine Ecology, University of Gothenburg, Sweden. The post-doc shall conduct research on the development of predictive modelling in coastal benthic habitats and the use of habitat maps in scenario planning. The post-doc shall also, in close collaboration with the project leader, be responsible for specific deliverables defined in the PREHAB research plan, for which University of Gothenburg have specific responsibilities. BONUS Reporting System
BONUS EEIG Secretariat reminds to the project teams that the web-based reporting system on EPSS (https://proposals.etf.ee/bonus) is up and running. We’d be glad to hear about the first experiences with this system when meeting the project representatives on 15 June 2009.
International conference on Linking Science and Management in the Baltic Sea Ecoregion 9.-10.9.2009

Marine seminar held in Stockholm, 23 April, 2009
A seminar was held in Stockholm at the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (Swedish EPA) 23 April with, among others, Swedish BONUS participants. The aim of the meeting was to establish contacts and improve the collaboration between science, policy and management. Representatives from the European Commission, the Ministry of the Environment, the Swedish EPA and the Swedish Marine Institute presented their current work and coming initiatives regarding marine and maritime issues. Relevant research was presented under four headings: Ecosystem based management, Eutrophication, Pollutants and Global change. BONUS visible at the European Maritime Day Conference in Rome 19-21 May, 2009
BONUS Programme has been represented at the Stakeholder Conference organized on occasion of the European Maritime Day, Rome, 19-21 May 2009. BONUS was recognized a for-runner in integrating the marine and maritime research to support knowledge-based management in an European regional sea.
